1. Why do you want to be on The Spectator?
2. What extracurricular activities do you partake in?
3. What are your time constraints, if any?
4. What periodicals do you read regularly, if any?
Part I: List three of your favorite musical artists, movies or books. Pick one and explain why you like it. Limit yourself to 120 words.
Part II: Think of four potential A&E article ideas. Be very specific; don’t just say a “movie review” or a “restaurant review.” For example, we should review “It’s a Funny Story,” a movie that recently came to theaters and was adapted from a book written by a Stuyvesant alumnus, Ned Vizzini.
Part III: Please compose a short article (around 400 words) reviewing or critiquing any movie, song, restaurant, or fine arts performance. If necessary, create fake quotes to add more substance to your article (but this isn’t necessary). This exercise is meant to demonstrate to us your Arts and Entertainment writing abilities so be sure to highlight your creativity and arts knowledge.
